Upgrade Your Factory Parts to Add to the Life of Your Computer
Don't get me wrong, I love electronics stores like Best Buy, I really Do. But one thing I don't like about the computers that they sell in these environments are factory-spec's. If you don't know what that means, you can liken it to factory cars that roll off the assembly line with stock parts. The one main difference is that while cars are built to last many years, the parts within these computers are not.
Cheap parts is the way that brands get those super low prices on their laptops. While this may get you through a few years without any replacement parts or laptop repair; in the long run, those parts are eventually going to burn out -- and they will do so at the most inopportune moment.
Parts People, a company out of Austin, Texas that specializes in laptop repair, have earned the nickname: "The Dell Laptop Experts." While this is a badge of honor for Parts People, it does not wear as well on Dell Computers, as it is evidence that Dell fills their laptops with the cheapest of parts. In business for over 10 years, Parts People have replaced hundreds of thousands of Dell laptop parts, but the problem of cheap factory parts is not limited to only Dell. The majority of popular brands use cheap factory parts.
The only way to get around this is to purchase a stock laptop, then replace all the parts preemptively, or to build a custom computer from-scratch; both of which can be expensive to do. Thankfully, if your Dell brand, or other brand parts burn out on you, Parts People have plenty of low cost options for replacing and upgrading those parts.
